Job Description
Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform engineering, with delivery experience across the data lifecycle from collection to analytics enablement.
- Strong SQL proficiency and hands-on Python programming experience, with familiarity with SQL, NoSQL, and other data query approaches.
- Practical experience with data modeling, integration and ETL, interoperability across business systems, and migration and mapping of complex relational data.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar database technologies, including performance optimization and operational management.
- Familiarity with big data and analytics platforms such as Apache Spark and Hadoop, and open-source analytics or query engines for large datasets.
- Experience implementing or supporting data quality, metadata, and governance controls that improve reliability and auditability.
- Understanding of distributed systems patterns, including APIs and distributed event streaming, and experience working in cloud-based and event-driven environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across business and technology teams in a matrix environment.
- Familiarity with GraphQL is an advantage.
- A degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with scenario generation and modeling for resiliency and recovery risk analysis is preferred, particularly when outputs need to be explainable and actionable for control stakeholders.
- Exposure to statistical and analytical techniques, data science methods, and data mining is preferred.
- Experience producing data architecture artifacts, such as target-state diagrams, data flows and lineage views, and conceptual or logical models, is preferred.
- TOGAF accreditation or cloud or solution architecture certifications are a plus.
Responsibilities: - Design, build, and operate production-grade pipelines that ingest, clean, transform, and aggregate data from diverse sources into trusted data products.
- Develop and refine logical and physical data models that represent user flows, system dependencies, resiliency indicators, and risk measures, including models that support prediction and decision-making where appropriate.
- Convert business, risk, and control needs into practical technical designs and delivery plans, collaborating with architects, engineers, analysts, and stakeholders across the organization.
- Contribute to data architecture strategy for resiliency analytics and risk modeling, including integration and interoperability across data sources and systems.
- Improve data quality, metadata management, and governance practices to strengthen reliability, explainability, auditability, lineage, and traceability.
- Apply modern architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven designs, cloud data platforms, and Lambda or Kappa patterns, to support scalable and, where needed, near-real-time data needs.
- Use SQL extensively and apply knowledge of NoSQL and other database technologies to manage and optimize database performance and efficiency.
- Apply engineering and automation practices—including version control, CI/CD, code review, testing, and documentation—to improve delivery and system stability while following firm standards and controls.
- Use Python for data engineering, orchestration, automation, and developer productivity; use GitHub Copilot and Claude Code for assisted development only as permitted by firm approval, policy, and applicable controls.
